Framebite Privacy Policy

1. Scope and operator

This policy applies to the Framebite Chrome and Safari extensions, the Framebite iPhone and Mac apps, and the Framebite pages on solvocraft.com. Framebite is operated by SolvoCraft LLC, a Wyoming company in the United States.

2. Data Framebite handles

Account data

When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive an account identifier and, when the provider makes them available, your email address, name, and profile image through the provider and Supabase Auth. We use this data to maintain your session, quota, plan, and subscription status. Framebite does not receive your Google or Apple password. If you choose Hide My Email, Apple may provide a private relay address instead of your personal email address.

Video and request data

When you ask Framebite to summarize, translate, or answer questions about a YouTube video, it may process:

• the YouTube URL, video ID, title, description, duration, and caption language;
• caption text and timestamps;
• the audio track from the requested public video when you explicitly request high-accuracy captions;
• the output language you selected;
• your questions, recent conversation context, and the transcript excerpts selected to answer them; and
• generated summaries, translations, answers, and timestamp references.

Framebite uses this data only to provide the video-understanding features you request, enforce plan limits, prevent abuse, troubleshoot failures, and maintain the service.

Page translation

When you turn on page translation on YouTube, Framebite sends the text to be translated: video titles, descriptions, recommended-video titles, comments and replies, and the titles shown in search results and lists. It also sends the target language and the minimum surrounding context needed to translate that text. Framebite does not send cookies, sign-in credentials, form drafts, or the full page, and does not send commenter names. Comment text is sent as written, so it may contain personal information that its author included.

Usage and billing records

We record quota usage, model and token counts, operation type, video identifiers, request size, completion status, timestamps, subscription identifiers, purchase source, and billing status. For App Store purchases, this may include product ID, original and latest transaction IDs, renewal status, expiration date, and App Store environment. These usage-event records do not contain question text, full caption text, or page text.

Data stored in your browser

The extension stores your preferences, authentication session, generated summaries, Ask history, subtitle translations, page translations (kept for up to 7 days), recent-video index, and quota snapshot in browser storage or IndexedDB. On Apple devices, the app and Safari extension also keep the Framebite session in a shared Keychain item so both can use the same account. Optional developer diagnostics are stored locally only when enabled. You can clear generated local content from Framebite settings.

3. Server storage and retention

• Shared summary cache: a summary may be cached by video, caption source, and output language so the same public video does not need to be processed again. The cache includes the video URL, title, and generated summary. A summary generated from captions that are private to your account is stored only for your account and is not shared.
• High-accuracy captions: when you request transcription for a public video, Framebite temporarily stores that video's audio in private Google Cloud storage and deletes it after processing, with a maximum retention period of 24 hours. The resulting captions may be retained as a shared asset for that public video so other Framebite users do not need to transcribe the same audio again.
• Account-linked results: summaries, answers, subtitle translations, and page translations generated for your account are stored with it, so repeating the same request returns the saved result without using points again. These records contain a hash that identifies the source content, the generated result, and usage counts, not the source text itself. They are kept until you delete your account.
• Account, quota, and subscription data: kept while your account exists and as needed to provide the service, resolve billing, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations.
• Operational records: may be retained in account-linked or anonymized form for security, reliability, cost control, and financial reconciliation.
• Local results: remain in that browser profile until you delete them, delete your account through Framebite, clear browser storage, or uninstall the extension.

4. Service providers and data transfers

Framebite sends data only to providers needed to operate the requested feature:

• Supabase: authentication, database storage, quota records, and server functions;
• Google: Google OAuth for sign-in and Gemini models for planning which parts of the captions to search when you ask a question;
• OpenAI: AI model processing for summaries;
• DeepSeek: AI model processing for answers, subtitle translation, and page translation;
• ElevenLabs: transcription of a requested public video's audio when you explicitly request high-accuracy captions;
• Lemon Squeezy: checkout, subscription management, payment records, and refunds;
• Apple: Apple sign-in and App Store subscription purchase, renewal, management, and refunds;
• Google Cloud: server processing, temporary storage of audio for high-accuracy captions, and standard technical logs for selected Framebite services;
• Cloudflare: hosting and standard technical logs for the Framebite website.

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Payment-card details are entered with Lemon Squeezy or Apple and are not stored by Framebite.

5. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

Framebite's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy , including its Limited Use requirements.

We do not sell user data, use it for advertising, transfer it to data brokers, or use browsing activity for an unrelated purpose. Humans do not read video or question data except with your specific permission for support, when required for security or legal compliance, or in aggregated and anonymized form for internal operations.

6. Account and data deletion

You can permanently delete your account from Framebite Settings → Account & plan. Framebite attempts to cancel an active Lemon Squeezy subscription before deleting the Supabase Auth user and account-owned profile, quota, subscription, account-linked results, and processing records. Framebite cannot cancel an App Store subscription for you; you must manage it through Apple before or after deleting the account. Framebite also clears locally generated summaries, Ask history, subtitle translations, page translations, and optional diagnostics in the current browser profile.

Shared summaries, shared high-accuracy captions for public videos, and operational records may remain after deletion, but your account identifier is removed from or unlinked from them. A minimal Apple original-transaction binding may remain after account deletion to prevent that purchase from being attached to the wrong Framebite account. Apple and Lemon Squeezy may retain transaction records where required for payment, tax, fraud prevention, or legal purposes. You can also request help at [email protected].

7. Security

Framebite transmits data over HTTPS and limits access to service credentials and account data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.

8. Website data

The Framebite marketing and legal pages do not use advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. Hosting providers may receive standard request logs such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamp to deliver and secure the site. The pages also load fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address and basic request data.

9. Children and international processing

Framebite is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Data may be processed in the United States and other locations where our providers operate.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Framebite's data practices change. Material changes will be disclosed in the extension as required, and the date above will be updated.
